Ford presents the EcoSport of 2018 in the US

Por Damian

After searching busily among its global models, Ford can now offer the EcoSport of 2018 in the competitive group of subcompact SUVs, which includes the Kia Soul, Jeep Renegade, Chevrolet Trax, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3, Nissan Kicks and Subaru Crosstrek. Good news if you seek to drive without harming the environment.

The EcoSport is the first car imported to the United States from India, one of several countries where the model has been manufactured, which has been very popular in recent years around the world. But this EcoSport was completely redesigned for the US, and looks a lot like a reduced-head version of a Ford Escape.

In fact, the EcoSport is a small utility vehicle, almost a foot and a half shorter than the Escape, and is placed under the Escape in the Ford SUV line.

The EcoSport S is fairly well equipped, with all-wheel drive available and most of the basic amenities you'll want from a modern car. The SE is a bit more expensive, but its list of additional functions is extensive. The sports-themed SES adds the improved EcoSport engine and standard all-wheel drive, or the luxurious Titanium, with leather upholstery and a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system.

The SE is equipped with EcoSport with LED running lights, fog lamps, exterior body color accents, roof rails, rear privacy glass, rear parking sensors, sunroof, 6.5-inch touch screen with Sync 3 interface, radio satellite, and the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

The Convenience package, which is optional in the SE, adds blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, interior ambient lighting, a navigation system, an 8-inch touch screen, a seven-speaker audio system and a power jack.

The SES is the somewhat sporty variant. It has the contents of the Convenience package and the 2.0-liter engine with the AWD combo, along with 17-inch wheels, a sport suspension, black exterior design elements, leather upholstery with fabric inserts and blind spot monitoring.

The luxurious Titanium adds 17-inch wheels, body-colored bumpers, leather upholstery, blind spot monitoring and a premium Bang & Olufsen audio system with speaker and HD radio.

Inside, Ford placed the commonly used controls within sight. There is a lot of space in the front seats, which provides an elevated position, but you'll have to be kind to the board if someone is going to fit behind them. The rear seat allows a fairly upright posture, but the legroom is very limited.
